Thermal Methane Cracking on Molten Metal: Kinetics Modeling for Pilot Reactor Design

چکیده
Up to 80% of hydrogen production is currently carried out through CO2 emission-intensive natural gas reforming and coal gasification. Water-splitting electrolysis using renewable energy (green H2) the only process that does not emit greenhouses gases, but it a quite energy-demanding process. To significantly contribute clean transition, critical low-carbon routes can replace current methods expand capacity meet new demands are developed. A path, alternative steam coupled with CCS (blue based on methane cracking, in which H2 associated solid carbon instead (turquoise H2), has received increasing attention recent years. The reaction takes place inside liquid bath, molten metal reactor. aim this article model main kinetic mechanisms involved cracking metals. developed was validated experimental data produced by University La Sapienza. Finally, such used scale up reactor architecture.

A Pilot Study of Syngas Production from Bio-oil Thermal Cracking in a Bubbling Fluidized Bed Reactor
A fluidized bed reactor that is operating in the bubbling regime has been developed for the conversion of bio-oils to syngas. The reactor consists of a 7.6 cm I.D. (or internal diameter) bed, with an expanded freeboard. The volume of the reactor can be adjusted to vary the gas residence time. This reactor has been used to carry out either thermal or catalytic cracking for reforming bio-oils.A ga...
متن کاملSimulation and Optimization of a Naphtha Thermal Cracking Pilot Plant
In thermal cracking plants, it is desired to apply an optimal temperature profile along the reactor to minimize the operation cost. In this article a simulator is developed by the use of a mathematical model, which describes the static operation of a naphtha thermal cracking pilot plant. The model is used to predict the steady state profiles of the gas temperature and product yields. Using ...
متن کاملKinetics of Palm Oil Cracking in Batch Reactor
The kinetics of palm oil catalytic cracking over aluminum containing mesoporous silica Al-MCM-41 (5% Al) was investigated in a batch autoclave reactor at the temperatures range of 573 – 673 K. The catalyst was prepared by using sol-gel technique and has been characterized by nitrogen adsorption and x-ray diffraction methods. Surface area of 1276 m/g with average pore diameter of 2.54 nm and por...
متن کاملMulti-objective Genetic Optimization of Ethane Thermal Cracking Reactor
An industrial ethane thermal cracking reactor was modeled assuming a molecular mechanism for the reaction kinetics coupled with material, energy, and momentum balances of the reactant-product flow along the reactor. To carry out the multi-objective optimization for two objectives such as conversion and ethylene selectivity, the elitist non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm was used. The Paret...
متن کاملMolten metal-related ocular thermal burn: report on two cases.
We report two cases of severe thermal burns on the ocular surface and its adnexal appendages that developed secondary to exposure to molten heavy metal with a melting temperature of near-thousand degree Celsius. Despite aggressive intervention and strict monitoring, the profound inflammation caused significant damage to the ocular surface, ending up in an intractable infection with an unfavorab...
